HOW DID I COME UP WITH THIS IDEA?
I am so unbelievably lucky to have grown up on Powell Lake. It’s approximately 30 seconds away from my front door. I started going up the lake to our family cabin when I was fresh ‘outta the womb. This lake holds so many special memories to me and I am stunned by the beauty every single time I’m there. Whether it be in the boat, at the cabin, or just driving to it to watch the water + mountains.. it always calms me and I get this wave of gratefulness to have this in my back yard. I appreciate the nature here on the West Coast so damn much - if you couldn’t already tell.
I want to photograph MORE sessions like this one below to show people that we can create beautiful moments in the most STUNNING places ever! Your photos don’t have to be just like every one else’s. Get outside + use this scenery to our advantage! Add florals + a canoe.. and WOWZA we just created some of my favourite images that I’ve ever taken.

Okay so I met O + S in person on the morning of the shoot. I was instantly like, “YUP I LOVE THEM!”. The chemistry between the two of them blew me out of the water (no pun intended). I want to give a huge props to Sidney because it was absolutely freezing cold that morning, and she killed it. These two moved to Powell River to try something new + I’m so glad they did. They fit in with PR so well and I can’t wait to hang with them again soon!

Pretty much any lake will do. I suggest renting or using a canoe that isn’t brightly coloured - stick to neutral colours such as white, black, or wood! We don’t want it to take away from you + your outfits. Another tip - wear outfits that complement your location. Long flowy dresses look so good, especially in or around water. I am here to help you choose your outfit ideas which we will discuss during the planning stages!
