Jeff + Grace Tofino Helicopter Elopement

Meet The Couple

Man oh man, I have been wanting to share this wedding with y’all since the day I photographed it. This was a dream come true. A helicopter elopement in the mountains on Vancouver Island… and along the Tofino shoreline. It doesn’t get much better than that. When Jeff + Grace first contacted me (pre-pandemic), I instantly knew we would click. We met up in Nanaimo for their engagement session for a couple of beverages at their favourite brewery before heading to the waterfall for their session. These two are seriously so frickin’ cool, I feel so connected after getting to know them + their story and photographing their special day.

Elopement Day

With the rules constantly changing, I had suggested a few ideas of adventuring to J + G and they LOVED the idea of a helicopter cruise in Tofino. When I heard this, I was jumping around like a kid on Christmas - I’m not kidding.. ask my parents.

May rolls around and I packed up my new truck with Finley + Braedon in tow, and we road tripped to my favourite little surf town. We decided to walk to the brewery for a drink before dinner and on the walk back, I saw two bikes coming at us (Tofino has an awesome bike lane going from one end of town to the other incase you didn’t know) and I pulled Finley to the side to get out of their way, but I recognized a familiar face as they got closer. Sure enough, it was Grace + Jeff out for an evening ride! Small town hahaha.

It was a weekend that I’ll never forget exploring sights I had never seen before, creating some unbelievable photographs, and enjoying some down time with my boys. I will forever be grateful for Grace + Jeff having me tag along for their special day. They both looked so amazing and it was truly so beautiful. They helped contribute to making my photographer dreams come true in creating photos I didn’t think I ever would. And since, I’ve done multiple helicopter weddings (a for sure fav of mine).
